Gorges of Verdon
Verdon takes its source near the collar of Allos, to throw itself 175km farther into Durance. Between Castellane and the Lake of Saint-crucifix, Verdon dug gorges really impressive: from 250 to 700 m of depth for a breadth consisted of between 6 and 100 m. This canyon is considered to be one of the nicest of Europe.
A road allows to follow the Gorges of Verdon and several belvederes give fantastic landscapes.

The Gorges of Verdon are also very appraised by the thrill-seekers. Indeed, you find here one of the nicest site of jump in the rubber band: The Bridge of Artuby which spans over the river of the same name. It is so a fall of about 180m, of what to have a nice rise of adrenalin...

The Gorges of Verdon come to an end in the Lake of Sainte-Croix. This lake, of a milky blue is a completely artificial lake and is the consequence of the creation of the weir of Sainte-Croix in 1973.
