The Poitevin swamp : the Green Venice

It is from the 7th century when the alteration work of swamps was launched by the surrounding monasteries, to be able to cultivate this rich ground. Canals were thus built, with the aim of draining lands and drying up swamps.

" Green Venice" is situated in the wet swamps. The long arms of water form a real labyrinth in which we can walk in boat. So, between conches and Canals, it is possible to meet itself in this totally wild and quiet space, where only coypus and cows come to perturb us...

The light, the reflections in the water and the greenery make an ideal playground for the photographer.
